From the wild storm lashed coastlines of the Atlantic to tranquil rolling hills, meandering rivers and ancient woodland’s, now is your opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the great Irish painters (Henry, Hill, Conor,Yeats etc.) . On this course you will be introduced to the versatility of oil paint and guided to create your own interpretation of some of Irelands wild and rugged places.

Materials Needed:

 

Oil Paints: The basic landscape palette:

 

Lemon Yellow

Yellow Ochre

Burnt Sienna

Burnt Umber

French Ultramarine Blue (for the sky)

Cobalt Blue                      (for the sea)

Alizarin Crimson or Magenta

Titanium White

 

Additional colours;….not absolutely necessary!

Prussian Blue

Caerulean Blue

 

Painting Surfaces:

Paper

Daler Board

Canvas board

Types of brush

(Draw your painting out with a brush)

Traditional Hog hair

Synthetic

Palette Knife (optional) 

 

Medium;

white spirit

Linseed oil

(or mix of both above)

Palette...This can be, for example.... glass/wood/perspex/plastic/greaseproof paper/bacofoil.
