Life Drawing, Friday 3-5pm
Discover the art and skill of drawing the human form in our immersive, guided course. Throughout this 6-week course participants will explore the fundamentals of capturing life on paper through observation, expression, and practice. Each two-hour session will build upon previous skills, progressing from gestural drawings and foundational anatomy to more detailed studies. You’ll learn techniques for creating dynamic line work, mastering proportions, understanding form, and enhancing depth through light and shadow.

Through a series of short and long poses, participants will have the chance to explore the unique challenges and rewards of life drawing. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class offers an inspiring environment to practice, learn, and connect with other artists. By the end of the course, you’ll have developed a stronger sense of proportion, improved your understanding of anatomy, and gained confidence in your own artistic expression.

Materials you will need to bring:
Sketchbook (A3 size or larger recommended for more expressive work)
Graphite Pencils (2B, 4B, and 6B for a range of line weights)
Charcoal Sticks (vine or compressed charcoal for deep contrasts and soft lines)
Erasers (kneaded and regular erasers for both precise and soft erasing)
Blending Tools (blending stumps for smoother shading transitions)
Fixative Spray (to prevent smudging once finished, optional)
Coloured Pencils or Pastels (optional, for those interested in adding colour)
Knitting Needle, chop stick or a wooden skewer
